Alpine Investors (CIT Program)

Places high-potential leaders as CEOs of small-to-mid-sized businesses backed by private equity.

Educational Listing — Not an Endorsement

Overview

Alpine Investors pioneered the CEO-in-Training (CIT) model — a structured program that identifies high-quality leaders and places them as CEOs in businesses Alpine acquires. Rather than installing existing management, Alpine believes the right leader is often the most important driver of business value. CIT candidates are vetted rigorously, developed through training, and placed in roles where they own full P&L responsibility from day one.

The Model

Alpine acquires small-to-mid-sized businesses across software, services, and other sectors. Qualified CIT candidates go through an onboarding and development process before being placed as CEO of one of Alpine's portfolio companies. Compensation typically includes a base salary plus meaningful equity upside tied to business performance.
